How to play Cipher
Give cryptic clues to help your team decode morpheme keywords while intercepting the other team's.
Setup
Form two teams with at least two players each. Each team places 4 morpheme cards in numbered slots behind their screen. These keywords are visible only to their own team and stay fixed for the entire game.
Play
Each round, a volunteer codemaster on each team gets a 3-digit code (e.g. 2-1-3) and writes a clue for each digit pointing at the matching keyword. Their team decodes the code; the enemy team also guesses (intercept). All clues stay on the page; patterns build over time. Intercepts start on Day 2.
Win
Earn an intercept token by guessing the enemy code, or a miscom token when your team fails to decode its own. Two intercepts wins. Two miscoms loses. After 8 days, more intercepts wins, then fewer miscoms breaks a tie. Equal scores produce a draw.
